Carbon Filled PTFE

Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) is a synthetic fluoropolymer of tetrafluoroethylene that has numerous applications.
- Lower deformation under load
- Higher compressive and flex modulus and increased hardness
- Chemically inert-can be used in strong alkali and in HF, where glass reinforced compounds fail
- Good initial wear and rubbing or sliding characteristics in both dry and water applications
- Frequently used in piston rings to reduce cylinder wall wear
